Questions, answered

How do I invite my partner?

Once you've started, you'll have an invite code (it looks like LOVE-K7Q3MX) and a link. Send either one by message or email. Your partner opens it on their own phone, answers the same few quick questions, and you're linked.

If you ask us to email the invite, we send one invitation and don't keep their address.

What can my partner see?

When you're linked, your partner sees your first name and your answers to steps for two, once you've both answered. The app tells you before you answer when a step is for two. They also see any reflection you choose to share, the love notes you send them, the mood you share, the dates either of you adds, whether you've done today's step, your shared streak and the packs either of you has opened. Which step you're on only shows if you both turn it on.

They never see your private journal, your Companion replies, your Love Manual, your onboarding answers or your account details. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Can I use it on my own?

Yes. You can start solo, travel at your own pace and invite your partner whenever you like. Steps for two reveal once you've both answered, so they're at their best together.

What if my partner doesn't join yet?

No rush. Carry on with your own steps, and your journal and answers stay safe in your account. You can invite them again whenever the moment feels right, and when they join they answer the same questions on their own phone.

Does one subscription really cover us both?

Yes. While you're linked, one subscription opens Love Explorer for both of you: £4.99 a month, or £24.99 a year with a 3-day free trial. After Dark is an optional extra at £2.99, once, for you both.

If you unlink, or the paying partner's subscription ends, access through them ends too. Either of you can subscribe on your own at any time.

How do I cancel?

If you subscribed through the App Store, cancel in your App Store settings. If you subscribed on the web, just email us and we'll cancel it for you.

Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. If you're on a free trial, cancel before it ends so you're not charged.

Is there an iPhone app?

It's on its way to the App Store. In the meantime, Love Explorer works in any browser, and on your phone you can add it to your Home Screen so it opens like an app, with notifications.

How do I get reminders on iPhone without the app?
  1. Open app.myloveexplorer.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  3. Open Love Explorer from your Home Screen.
  4. Go to Settings and switch on notifications.

Adding it to your Home Screen comes first: iPhone only allows notifications for web apps opened from there. You'll need iOS 16.4 or later.

Can I switch off the Companion?

Yes, in Settings, at any time. When it's off, your reflections aren't sent to our AI provider, your answers aren't used in your partner's Companion replies, and your Love Manual stops being updated.

Is this therapy?

No. Love Explorer is a playful way to talk and grow closer, and it isn't therapy or counselling or a substitute for professional help. The planets and phases don't predict anything either: they're a map for conversation. If talking brings up strong feelings, it's fine to slow down, take a break, and reach out to a qualified professional or someone you trust.

Is it for over-18s only?

Yes. Love Explorer is for adults aged 18 and over, and please only invite a partner who is 18 or over too.

Deleting your account

  1. Open Love Explorer and go to Settings.
  2. Choose to delete your account. This is permanent.

It unlinks you

Deleting your account unlinks you from your partner straight away. They keep their own answers, and your answers disappear from their view.

It doesn't cancel a subscription

Cancel that separately: in your App Store settings, or by emailing us for a web subscription.

Can't get into the app?

Email mail@myloveexplorer.com from the address on your account and we'll take care of it.

Want a copy first? You can download your journal and account data from Settings > Export.

Feeling safe comes first

If things at home ever feel unsafe or frightening, you deserve support. These services are free and confidential (UK):

In an emergency call 999. If you can't speak, call 999 and press 55 when asked.

You never have to use the app, answer a question or share an answer because someone else wants you to.
